[Tiki-devel] Responsive carousel in Tiki ?

Bernard Sfez-3
Hello,

I needed a carousel or a slider and installed the first one that pops in google: https://doc.tiki.org/PluginCarousel

All good, but this is not responsive (at all).

Do we have a 10mn solution ?

Maybe a Bootstrap Component Carousel?

Bernard, see here:

https://tiki.org/UserPageTorsten

incl. code in Code plugin.

Just change the file Ids to Ids on your Tiki

Hi,

This also works:
https://doc.tiki.org/LIST+-+output+command#Carousel_Formatting

Another example of it here: http://demo.zukathemes.com/Slider

There's a slider/carousel comparison here:
https://dev.tiki.org/Slider+comparison . Ones that use a library that's
no longer being developed, etc. should probably be removed from Tiki.
Please add notes, opinions, etc. to the page if you like.

Re: [Tiki-devel] Responsive carousel in Tiki ?

Bernard Sfez-3
Some input…

I knew of course about the plugin list carousel but it didn’t look to me like the "basic" option I would or a simple user would choose to add a basic slider on a website (comparison with wordpress or others)
I though we have something simpler and looking at https://dev.tiki.org/Slider+comparison raise some doubt if Tiki has such basic slider option.
This is a super common web feature and Tiki should have a plug & play solution.

Both of the solution (plugin list and Torsten HTML) look very similar but for the chevron < >
On Torsten demo they are well placed in the edge middle part of the carousel window.
On the plugin list they are edge top which I found weird. (http://צימראדמהושמים.com)

For my own use I can play with the CSS, but for a such simple use (the demo above with an existing theme) I would expect a 1h+ work to have it published no more (from Tiki installed to Facebook check) by a new user (mid knowledge).
May be something to be improved while Tiki17 is under initial process ? :)

Bernard
