[Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Bernard Sfez-3
Hello,

Morning  test on fresh Tiki17x.

Using the c option on setup.sh =
[ErrorException]
rename(/Users/Bernard/.composer/cache/composer-temp.phar,temp/composer.phar): No such file or directory

When I check it there:
ls -l /Users/Bernard/.composer/cache/
----------   1 Bernard  staff  1838958 Jun  6 11:05 composer-temp.phar

I delete the file and setup.sh recreate it the same = same error

When I check it there:
ls -l temp
-rwxrwxr-x    1 Bernard  staff  1836198 Apr 12 11:50 composer.phar

I delete the file and setup.sh c is now working.

Re: [Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Jean-Marc Libs
Hi Bernard,

I encountered this once upon upgrading from Tiki17.0beta. I was equally puzzled by the weird lack of permissions on .composer/cache/composer-temp.phar and the difficulty of getting rid of it.
Turns out, it was a false lead. This is all normal. The real fix (for me) was:
rm temp/composer.phar
Then it got recreated by sh setup.sh

I thought it was just me having a broken install due to too many experimental versions but if this becomes a "normal" occurence, we may need to document it?

Tell us if it worked.

Cheers,
Jyhem

Hi JM,

I wrote already that was the solution, but I see now this error for some times (new install each time) and I wonder if there is a way to prevent it…

"Seems your composer.phar is screwed, do you want Tiki to recreate it ? " :)

Re: [Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Bernard Sfez-3
FYI,

And again after svn up:

[Composer\Downloader\TransportException]
The "https://getcomposer.org/download/1.4.2/composer.phar" file could not be written to /Users/Bernard/.composer/cache/composer-temp.phar: failed to open stream: Permission denied

But at least process keep on:

Composer self-update failed. Reinstalling composer
All settings correct for using Composer
Downloading…

cheers

Re: [Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Jean-Marc Libs
That's how it's meant to work for now. It does not hide the fact there was an error, it detects the error afterwards, mentions it and fixes it.
It's really a composer issue and I felt hiding the feedback (if possible, composer not being known for following unix standards) while running the composer self-update would make it impossible to detect new issues in the future…

If that's a problem, I can have a look again. Note: we already have a "quiet" mode in setup.sh (-q). Hopefully it also hides the scary error message.

Re: [Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Bernard Sfez-3
This afternoon. :)

svn up

setup.sh =>
Installing dependencies from lock file
Warning: The lock file is not up to date with the latest changes in composer.json. You may be getting outdated dependencies. Run update to update them.

I check all the possible "update" troubleshooting at https://dev.tiki.org/Composer but they all failed.

Seems composer.json is nowhere to be found now.
But, I found a "composer.json.dist"…

Anything to be corrected ?

It's really a composer issue and I felt hiding the feedback (if possible, composer not being known for following unix standards) while running the composer self-update would make it impossible to detect new issues in the future…

If that's a problem, I can have a look again. Note: we already have a "quiet" mode in setup.sh (-q). Hopefully it also hides the scary error message.

Re: [Tiki-devel] Composer update on tiki17 (this morning)

Jonny Bradley-4
Hi Bernard

I thought we updated that page since the move to vendor_bundled happened for 17.x. The command i use these days is:

php temp/composer.phar update -d vendor_bundled --prefer-dist 2>&1 | sed '/Warning: Ambiguous class resolution/d'

Mainly it's the "-d vendor_bundled" part you're probably missing? The sed part at the end is just to hide all the errors that old libs like PEAR and adodb emit.

Coincidentally i was going to do one anyway so will do that now, and do the merge/conflict thing with trunk (if you can update the dev page, assuming that was the problem?)

Thanks B :)
